Concept

Seeing first hand the paperwork needed for pet passports I wanted to digitise the process.

    Dermot McDonagh

    I work as a UX Designer in Dublin, Ireland. I have BSc in Digital Design, Innovation & Technology and currently studying for a MSc in Interactive Digital Media. For my disseration I took on this project of creating an app to replace pet paper passports.

    What was your motivation ?
    Witnessing my friends missing their pets when relocating for work or college. They had to go through a lot of paperwork to move their pets. I knew their could be a faster and easier way.
    How do you propose to store pet data?
    Their are over 140 million pets in the EU alone. Using a green blockchain solution would be a secure, tamper proof and scaleable way to store that data.
    What makes you unique?
    My solution expands beyond travel and relocation to being able to transfer pet ownership and report missing pets via your phone.
    What software tools did you use to develop your solution
    I used Survey Monkey, Google Forms and Otter.ai for my research. When designing my app I used Figma for design and Maze.co for user testing. For Development I used Expo to develop prototype for iOS and Android. Then customised a Next.js template for my website.
